Christian Bundegaard is a Danish born painter, who divides his time between studios in Sóller and on the island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea.
Doing both oils on canvas and digital fingerpainting on a tablet, he explores the intricacies of the depths of the space vs. the flatness of the wall and the picture plane, as well as the interplay between figuration and it’s abstractions.
“My paintings need no explanations, no narratives, no words, really” Bundegaard says. “They simply are, just like a flower, a hillside or the ocean is in their million nuances of simplicity.”
