The South Korean artist Youngjae Lih (b.1984 Seoul) shows exclusively an extension of the project “FFPP” inspired by the lighthouses and lighthouse keepers of Porto Pi and Portocolom in Mallorca. Presented in 2021 at Färgfabriken (Stockholm) Youngjae was the recipient of the prestigious Beckers Art Award in Sweden.
His works tend to focus on the nature of existing objects and the interactions between them. Drawing on his background as an electronic engineer and his extensive knowledge of technology, his practice reveals the syntax and formation of new narrative strands. Through his reverse engineering approach to art, Youngjae develops his own personal solutions, produces new technology, and creates alternative expressions and forms of communication.
