A traveler is a unique creature capable of being nowhere and everywhere all at once. He is aware of being a tiny and fleeting element of the landscape and he does not demand anything from it; he is aware – or perhaps he only senses that it is the only way he will be granted the landscape’s raw beauty. That myth is the key to Luis Maraver works’: the conversation between immensity and subtleness; between the high, stormy skies and an arid Morocco, Jordan, India; between the infinite solitude of a humble camel driver, a water carrier, a pack donkey, and an observer, a painter (another traveler, after all) who observes, just observes, so we can observe too.
