”Primitive revival” represents a praise of spiritual cultivation and alternative ways of knowing. In a world of appearances and masks, claiming atavistic art symbolizes an avant-garde movement. The objective is to collide head-on with the fast-paced and ephemeral life that defines today’s society - not having time as a synonym of success, cultivating the form neglecting the substance, the search for single-use stimuli, and the constant, excessive need for dopamine.

With this series of works, Toni Salom claims to go back in order to move forward; defending thought and, at the same time, censoring the dictatorship of entertainment that keeps us trapped, totally absorbed, and outside of ourselves.
